REMASS Post-Doc Magdalena Klotz participated in the Young Researchers Seminar on Sustainable Material Cycles (YRS 2026) at the University of Kassel on September 3–4, 2026.
The seminar, now in its 6th edition in Kassel, featured major format developments and new interactive elements to further strengthen exchange among young scholars. It was organized by Sarah Schmidt and her team from the Research Group on Resource Management and Solid Waste Engineering at the University of Kassel.
During the seminar, Magdalena presented her current REMASS research titled “Assessing the global energy and emission saving potential of a circular economy.”
YRS 2026 provided a platform for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers working on the sustainable use of materials to showcase their ongoing research, exchange ideas, and connect with peers in an open and supportive setting. The seminar aimed to foster interdisciplinary discussions on methods and case studies in industrial ecology, life cycle assessment, circular economy, resource management, and related fields.
