The Gaia Band performing at the Global Tipping Points conference, featuring REMASS PI Helmut Haberl on guitar.

The Global Tipping Points Conference taking place June 30th to July 3rd
at the Campus of the University of Exeter was focused on "Accelerating action to ensure a socially just transformation".

Several sessions discussed positive tipping points towards more equitable, just and environmentally sustainable socities, in addition to a large range of presentations and discussions on the current state of knowledge on tipping points in climate and other environmental systems.

Helmut Haberl presented the basic ideas and current work in the REMASS project. The ensuing discussions were highly useful and may open up highly interesting new options for collaborations with colleagues from around the globe.

Another fun event at the conference was the formation of the "Gaia
Band"
by Peter Norton. Several colleagues joined in, and Helmut enjoyed
contributing to the performance preceding the vegetarian Barbecue Event (see Photo).
