REMASS Workshop on Malleability

On June 16, 2025, REMASS researchers from various fields came together for a one-day workshop at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Laxenburg on the topic of "Refining Socio-Metabolic Malleability."
The event focused on exploring how malleability can be understood and applied across the technical, institutional, and cultural dimensions of socio-metabolic systems.
Engaging discussions unfolded both in plenary sessions and smaller breakout groups, fostering the exchange of ideas and collaborative brainstorming.
Participants collaboratively developed a working definition, identified key indicators, and outlined a collaborative manuscript aimed at advancing this emerging field of research.
