New pre-doc Fabian Pfeiffer joins REMASS project team

Fabian Pfeiffer, who completed his MA at the University of Vienna in Development Studies, specializes in international political economy, corporate power and socio-ecological transformations. In his master thesis he investigated working conditions and worker power in the platform economy.

With a case study on food provisioning systems, he will primarily work in Module 3. His research analyzes actors, institutions and power relations in the global fertilizer industry and what this implies for the resilience and malleability of food systems. A special focus will be on geopolitics, decarbonization and industrial development opportunities in fertilizer production and trade. In addition, Fabian will work in a case study on wood-based housing, applying an industry perspective to assess the potential for and limitations to its scaling.
